The Property Tax Relief program is funded by the State of Wyoming every two years. There is a set amount of funds that are given to this program and once they are gone, there will not be anymore refunds given out.
This program allows people (of any age) to apply for property tax relief as long as the eligibility requirements are met. A person could receive up to one-half of their prior year's property taxes or up to one-half of the median residential property tax in the county of residence. The median residential property tax is determined each year by the Wyoming Department of Revenue.
Qualifying applicants must file an application annually with the County Treasurer or the Wyoming Department of Revenue. All applications must be filed by the FIRST MONDAY IN JUNE.
The Property Tax Refund Program for the tax year has been funded by the State. You can pickup the applications at the Converse County Treasurer's Office. Past applicants should receive their paperwork directly from the Department of Revenue.
